Women’s Program Student Funds & Personal Property to bring

STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BRING TWO (2) SUITCASES WHEN CHECKING INTO THE PROGRAM. ITEMS NOT ON THE APPROVED LIST BELOW SHALL BE BOXED-UP AND MAILED TO A PERSON OF STUDENT’S CHOICE (at student’s expense).

Student Personal Property: The following suggested list of personal items will be needed by the student while participating in the program. These items may also be purchased or brought in by family at a later date,

  • Dresses – 2ea.

  • Slip – 1(black).
  • Dress Pants – 2pr.
  • Leggings – 3 (1 black)
  • Jeans/Pants – 6pr.
  • T-Shirts (long or short sl.) – 12 total

  • Shorts – 4 pr.
  • Whole piece swimsuit – 1 ea.
  • Bras – 5 (1 black)
  • Underwear – 12 pr.
  • Socks (knee high) – 4 pr.

    If a student is unable to bring any of the items listed, he may obtain some items from the “blessing room”.

The items listed below are optional and the student shall bring only what is absolutely necessary:

Pictures of immediate family members only (no pictures of girlfriends) – 4 maximum (no photo or scrap albums).

No Other Items Allowed

Student funds:  Each student may have up to $50.00 per month on his student account to purchase toiletries, prescriptions, etc. (WalMart cards are strongly recommended in lieu of cash).  Student funds shall be deposited in the Ohio Valley Teen Challenge Student Account while in the program.  The balance of funds remaining, in a students account, shall be refunded to the student after discharge and release from the program.

We are a Christian Program

We are a Christian program, so we expect all clothing to be modest – anything too short, too tight, or too revealing will not be allowed. Any clothing deemed inappropriate by the staff will be held until your departure. General Dress Code: No spaghetti straps; No tank tops (unless under a shirt); No backless dresses or blouses. No low-cut tops; No crop tops; No shirts that reveal the belly or waist area. Please make sure that your shirts cover your lower back and behind at all times. No low-cut pants or jeans; No hip huggers; No spandex-style or clinging pants, or shorts. Shorts (no writing on rear), skirts, and dresses, no more than 2 inches above top of the knee cap, while sitting down. Sleepwear must be modest; no short-shorts; a robe must be worn over PJ’s or nightgown when not sleeping, morning and nights. Underwear must be modest; nothing too see- through. No thongs. Bring briefs or bikini style. Bras and panties must be worn at all times except when sleeping. Nothing with obscene language, secular messages, pictures or anything representing tobacco, drugs, secular music, the occult, or racism, etc. No gang colors or symbols allowed. No dry-clean-only clothing. You will not have the opportunity to go to laundry mat. Only normal pierced earlobes. NO nose ring/studs, eyebrow, tongue, lip, bellybutton or other body piercing ring or studs are allowed. Any restricted items will be confiscated and held until departure date.

Student funds: Each student may have up to $60.00 per month on her student account to purchase toiletries, prescriptions, etc. (WalMart cards are strongly recommended in lieu of cash). Student funds shall be deposited in the Teen Challenge of the Firelands Student Account while in the program. The balance of funds remaining, in a student’s account, shall be refunded to the student after discharge and release from the program providing there is not any kind of outstanding debt occurred by the student.
